Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day - March 2014

Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day! The orchids seem to be loving this month. Many are in bloom while others have begun spiking.

Pink Amaryllis

The dendrobium anosmum orchid has produced its annual inflorescence a month earlier than last year. There are more blooms too, as a result of better care given.

Hard-Cane Dendrobium Orchid

Dendrobium 'Sripho Stripe' Orchid

I love roses but roses do not love the Tropics. I am always on the lookout for cultivars that can grow here. The shrub rose 'Belinda's Dream', with its many pink petals, seems to be doing alright.

What amazing orchids; I love those Dendrobiums. I love orchids but I have never tried Dendrobiums or Vanda. Are they tricky to look after?

Those are some wonderful colors and shapes! I never saw too many orchids until I moved to New Zealand--they seem to like it here!

All so lovely. I never managed to keep an orchid alive but I think it's just too dry here and I am not home enough to keep misting. I do love them, though.

Your orchids are really unbelievable beautiful. I am in love with your Dendrobium Anosmum Orchid. I have never seen one like this so far and absolutely adore the soft coloration.
We grow the same rose, Belinda's Dream', in completely different climate zones. It amazes me how adaptable this particular rose is. I would appreciate to see a full bush shot of yours! Mine is still a baby, but coming on strong. Warm regards,
Christina

Very pretty orchids! I have some of them in my garden too.
There is a collection of roses bred in India which are more suited to the tropics. You might want to take a look at those.
